Elsie had a wonderful experience this year in trying something she had wanted to pursue for a while.  The year-end dance recital for the "Dance It" studio was held April 30.  She did an awesome job!

At the end of the recital, two girls were selected from each class to receive special recognition.  It was a complete surprise when Elsie was chosen to receive "Dancer of the Year" award for her group. She thought another girl in the class was sure to be the lucky recipient.  What a fun night for Elsie!

Quinn is all about baseball right now.  He's playing on the Giants rec team with 3rd & 4th graders and is leading the pack.  Who knew he'd be a natural at pitching?  It's his favorite thing to do besides hitting the ball and running the bases.  His confidence has grown quite a bit since last year when he first played.  The games can get a little long for my attention span but I'm working on it.

 This is the "off-season" for high school basketball but fortunately for Jantzen, he's playing a bit of ball with his RMBC team.  These boys come from three different high schools but know each other and play very well together.  In fact, they won a recent tournament held in UT and qualified to play in a national venue in Florida this summer.

It worked out well for Jantzen to get a ride down to UT with a teammate, have G-ma & G-pa P meet him at his first game then take Jantzen to their Murray house where Aaron later met up.  He flew into SL after being in NY and CO for work during the week.

Uncle Greg showed up for Jantzen's last game on Saturday afternoon.

Jantzen wasn't even disappointed to miss out going to the Prom Dance that weekend.  He didn't asked anyone knowing the potential conflict.  He and Aaron topped of the fun with burgers at In & Out on their way back home.

Anna - on the JV tennis team

 After initially registering for track this spring, Anna ended up changing her mind and switching to tennis instead.  She was persistent in wanting to try something new so we let her give it a go.  She thought tennis looked so fun (and social).  The tennis program is HUGE and we have very limited facilities.  Add our awfully cold and wet spring weather this year (and most years in SE ID) and a "not-so-good" doubles partner, and I don't think the season was quite as fun as Anna had anticipated.

While Aaron and I were in Australia, Anna called to say the track coaches were asking if she (and Janessa) would come back and help the team compete in a 4x800m relay.  Janessa (11th grade) had also left track for tennis.  It was an interesting situation and with only two weeks before Districts, Anna started running again.  Obviously, that's not enough time to get in shape to competitively race an 800m and Janessa ended up quitting the day before the girls were to race.  Anna persisted and did pretty well considering.  In any event, it reminded Anna that she has real talent and she'll likely chose to do track over tennis next year.

The girls' and boys' track teams both won the District Championships.  

Anna ran the open 800m and managed a 2:37.10 after two weeks of training.  Not too shabby.
