Final Field-trip & Festival

It's been a wonderful trimester for Brinley as she's been involved in the Environmental Solutions program at the high school.  I have lost track of how many field trips she's been on but the mountains and streams have been her classroom.  She has learned about the delicate balance of our local ecosystem in a very hands-on way as they tested the streams chemically, physically and biologically.  Brinley learned all about trees, fossil fuels and alternative energy....to name a few.

Friday was Brinley's team presentation - final project for the E.S. program.  She did a great job teaching us about the White Pine Bark and the Clark Nutcracker bird and invasive species.
It's been a very full week of activities.  There were a number of basketball practices and games for Jantzen and Anna, indoor soccer practice/game for Quinn, extra piano lessons and performances in preparation for Festival, haircut appointments, an eye doctor appointment, several foot zone appointments, taking a meal in for a family, an Act it Out miscommunication mishap, YM/YW, a birthday party and so forth.  I was SO happy to pick Aaron up from the airport Friday night!  Just in time for him to take Jantzen to two out-of-town basketball games on Saturday while I took Anna, Elsie and Quinn to Festival at the college.
They played their pieces beautifully and were very excited about hitting Dairy Queen afterwards.  This was Quinn's first festival and he played Mary Had A Little Lamb and Chant Arabe (received a 100 perfect score!).  This boy was all about having a "blizzard" ice cream treat - a real splurge!
