| Anna's fruit pizza for dinner/dessert |
In an effort to expand the kid's horizons in the kitchen, each has been assigned one day of the week to be responsible for providing dinner. It's a mixed-bag since what they want to eat and what I deem a nutritious meal isn't exactly the same. As such, the kids have enjoyed crepes, pasta dishes, tater tot casserole, stroganoff, etc. Anna was shocked when I informed her that her Monday meal selection of fruit pizza was actually a dessert. Yeah, a giant sugar cookie for the crust?!? The compromise was that we made a green salad to go with it but everybody still ate dessert first:). First "win" of the week.
After a grueling few days of try-outs (including a broken arm of Landon G.), Jantzen made the freshman basketball team. The boys are required to wear white basketball shoes - nothing flashy. I've learned that the busy basketball season coincides with the busy holiday season whether I like it or not. Congrats Jantzen! Another win for the week.

It's been over two years. She found freedom in her mouth Wednesday morning. Another win for the week.
Wednesday night - Pinewood Derby. Oh yeah! Aaron helped Quinn create a winning car for the first derby of his cub scout career. And it was victory all night long. We did FaceTime with Aaron who was in Las Vegas for two different conferences.

Jane S. is an energetic Cub Master and did a fabulous job prepping for this night. Nice to be able to 'hire out' the track set-up along with the computerization of everything and let someone else run the show. Best $70 the ward spends every year now that we've discovered this guy. Each scout gets to race his car 8 times, the slowest race is eliminated and then an average speed is generated. Quinn won overall quite handily. Of course, at the derby, every scout is a winner of something:).

Another win for the week.
A few other wins from the week include Elsie's 5th grade choir concert (pics didn't turn out) and my participating in a "Citrus Pear" class (put together 20 freezer meals in one evening). Aaron's conferences/speaking went well and we were happy to have him home by Friday night...just in time for Anna to have a few friends over (like, 7!). He, Jantzen and Quinn helped Cameron move out of his parents' place and into a townhouse in IF on Saturday. And today we enjoyed participating in the dedication of the Meridian Idaho Temple. What a wonderful week!
