My kids enjoy "Friday Friend Day" when it happens. And last Friday it happened. That means we double in volume around here for awhile and then I'm always a bit relieved when the friends' parents come to collect. It seems the older they get, the longer they think 'playdates' need to last - especially since we have a "no sleep-overs" policy around here. (Aaron and I made that decision before we ever had children and it's been a tough one for a few of them to accept).
Friday night brought the much anticipated "Math Explosion" - another evening event at the elementary school for Jantzen's 3rd grade class. Mrs. Garner is amazing. And it was Piano Festival for Jantzen and Anna on Saturday morning. This happens twice a year and they were well prepared and did a great job. We celebrated at Jamba Juice this time around.

So - a few weeks ago Tanner was collecting signatures at various homes and noticed a fish tank sitting outside on a porch. He asked the homeowner what his plans were for the tank (which had been sitting out for weeks) and the man happily offered it to him. Now, Tanner did not need another tank but he was already calculating what he could make by selling it online. After cleaning it up and switching out what he wanted to keep for his own fish tank set-up, he listed and made $20 tonight. Awesome.
Brinley has become our designated 'party planner'. I think she originally wanted to make Quinn's birthday extra special but after all the planning and preparing, she couldn't stand the thought of waiting another whole week. Here's a taste of what Sunday afternoon was like around here.
Brinley sewed an assortment of fish & bags for everybody - here's a fish with a Q for Quinn.
She had all kinds of prizes for the various games.
She even convinced Tanner to get in on the action a bit.

They played musical squares, made/decorated magnets, had a "coloring contest", another egg hunt (with left-over candy), etc. The kids had a great time!
Brinley made sugar cookie dough on Sunday but we ran out of time so the kids finished this project up as part of FHE tonight. Seriously, this girl can bake. And we all love the end results. Yummy.
Last but not least, Aaron is FINALLY starting to feel better. It's been a long stint around here but he's turned the corner now.

I knew Brinley was a kindred spirit! Looks like she does a great job of planning a party. Glad Aaron is feeling better.
The one thing I have always said if I could go back and raise my children again I would not let them go to friend sleepovers. I can't believe how old your kids are getting!
Great blog. Thanks. Congrats Tanner as an entrepreneur. Brinley, planning parties and events is a fabulous talent. Way to go both of you!!! Wish we could have heard Anna and Jantzen at festival. Don't forget your songs. We'll hear them soon.
