Charlie Brown Tree

Aaron has fond memories of the excitement he felt in searching for, selecting and cutting down a family Christmas tree.  It's something he has wanted to do with our children for a long time and this year the "stars aligned".  So, just hours after the last of our Thanksgiving guests departed, with permit in hand, he loaded up the kids, snow clothes and a 4-wheeler and drove north.  

Tanner attended to his Saturday job of cleaning the Home Care Pulse offices and I had sharing time to prepare for primary the next morning so Aaron was the 'lone soldier' in handling the big crew.  And that makes him all the more amazing to me...

Fortunately (in my opinion), it has been a mild winter thus far so there was very little snow even north of us where there is typically A LOT of snow.  Nonetheless, the kids did plenty of walking/exploring the hillside in search of their Christmas tree.

After finding their "Charlie Brown Tree" (with time running short) and returning to the Yukon, tired and cold and ready to head home, Aaron quickly discovered the car battery was dead.  They said a few prayers and then Brinley shared her idea of using the 4-wheeler to jump the Yukon.  Providence smiled upon them and this idea proved successful.  Soon enough, the crew was on the road just as a storm was beginning to roll into the area.  I'm sure it will be a forever memory for each of the children - thanks for being such a great Dad, Aaron!
