It isn't every day you receive an email with an invitation to participate in a week long soccer camp - all expenses paid for by a local philanthropist. Jantzen's entire team (just finished undefeated season) was invited to attend this camp. Yeah, it was totally cool!

Monday through Friday Jantzen spent three hours each afternoon honing soccer skills with a few Brazilian coaches.
It was a fantastic way for him to get a little exercise and be social at the same time - two of his favorite things to do.
When I registered Tanner to take a sophomore English class during the month of June, I didn't anticipate it would only take him six days to complete a trimester's worth of work! Granted, he spent four hours a day in class and then came home and spent all afternoon working on assignments. The eclectic group of classmates was motivation enough for him to finish up quickly. In working through his fall school schedule, we determined it would be advantageous for him to take an online health class and a summer English class to open up room for other electives - especially since he will have seminary and orchestra to fit in. And what did I find him doing now that he has a little spare time on his hands?
Tinkering.
He took his assignment to clean the bonus room to a whole new level.
Our digital piano has had a few issues ever since little fingers shoved coins/tokens, etc. into the midi-disk drive a while back. It was amazing what Tanner was able to retrieve with his concocted apparatus!
That evening Aaron joined in the fun - and they recovered lots of disks that had also been "shoved" inside.
The good news - we can play the piano without the constant buzzing sounds.
The bad news - the midi-disk drive is no longer in service.

Summer 4-H Camp for Brinley
Upon arrival they were able to decorate their cabin.

Brinley participated in leather working, archery, tie dye projects, duct tape creations, swimming, skits, etc.

While she enjoyed her time in the mountains and the group she was part of, she decided last year's camp was more organized and she preferred it that way.
Quinn was a very good sport while Elsie practiced doing "boy hair" at her beauty school. She also set up shop to practice being a dentist several times this past week.
Not sure Anna faired as well while Aislyn practiced her hair-do's.
Tanner participated in Youth Conference this weekend.
The 2013 theme - "Arise and Walk" invited youth ages 14-18 to literally walk to the temple together. A funny/random moment occurred when a tour bus suddenly pulled over and a bunch of Oriental people got out to take pictures of the large group of youth making the trek.
After arriving at their destination, they enjoyed lunch together and a final meeting before departing for a local service project.
Meanwhile, I attended an Aromatouch Technique class all day and will be completing certification this week. It is an essential oil application technique that is amazingly simple (compared to the foot zone technique). I'm really excited about what I learned. Thanks for an awesome class, Brooke!

Fun stuff sweetie! I was really impressed how quickly Tanner figured out how to take the piano apart and remove those items. It is nice to have someone else in the home with DIY talents!
