This year half of our children were in the local parade.
It was a "Catch 22" because that also meant no candy catching...
Or rather, necklace catching...
By the time Tanner and Jacob got to where we were sitting, they were out of candy and only had red necklaces left to toss out to the crowds. They rode on a fire truck as part of the Mayor's youth group.
Jantzen and Quinn were prepared with grocery bags but really only needed sandwich bags this time around. Hooray!

Elsie was quite a trooper and walked the entire parade route.
Tanner's group was at the beginning of the parade so he had time to walk back to where we were sitting before Anna and Elsie even came by. It seemed to be a longer parade than usual.
We have awesome neighbors. And it's nice to have a party-planner among us...
The kids always look forward to this annual gathering on the 4th of July.

Matt is the PYRO among us. He goes all out when putting on a fireworks show - it rivals any in the area. And the music coincided perfectly. The best part, however, was not having to deal with crowds and traffic after the show ended!

Although there is no evidence of it, I actually played a few games of volleyball. Aaron was out helping collect the flags the scouts put out that morning. He didn't get to witness my awesome skills...
