Summer Review - Week 5 

Tanner has officially completed both classes he enrolled in during the summer.  He took a health class online and attended a summer english class and completed the coursework in record time - receiving A grades for both subjects.  Way to go Tanner!

 Basketball Camp
Participating in a basketball camp was Jantzen's big hurrah for the summer and he helped to pay for this opportunity.  He worked on developing his skills and enjoyed playing basketball Monday through Friday from 1-4:30pm.

The kid option -" hot dog meal" - don't think the fork's gonna do it..

Every summer our local credit union hosts a big community dinner/party and the kids always have a lot of fun participating in the various games and activities.  This year we only had time for the "free meal" before rushing off to get the girls to the high school for a dress rehearsal.  Amazingly, we navigated the crowds in record time - and I didn't have to make dinner:).

For the past five weeks Brinley, Anna and Elsie have participated a children's summer theatre camp.  Fortunately, we had a carpool situation because  it was a real investment of time.  Monday through Friday from 9:30am-12 noon with some practices on Saturdays.  This was our first experience in the 'theatre world' and for the most part - it was a positive one.  All three girls quickly learned no matter how big or small the part - it's a real commitment.

This past weekend they were busy with three performances of Disney's "Aladdin Jr." - a 70 minute run time - kids' version.  

Each child in the play was responsible for sewing a portion of their costume.
A special thanks to Brinley (and Anna helped too) for taking on this project and sewing the girls' harem pants.

It was tough to get decent pictures during the performances but they did a super job!  It was so fun to watch them sing their hearts out and play their parts so well.

Elsie and Anna were also "Genie Dancers" and wore different costumes but I didn't get pics.

Brinley was a "Ribbon Dancer" in addition to being a townsperson.

G-ma and G-pa P drove up to catch the Saturday matinee.  The girls were all smiles about their intermission treat - Paradise Donuts! 

It's always fun when G-ma and G-pa come to town!  The show was so entertaining that Quinn attended two performances in the same day - and totally LOVED it!  He was almost giddy during the final scene when Aladdin and Jasmine kiss.  Oh boy.

Another highlight for Quinn & Elsie this past week was having a sleep-over at G-ma M's house.  Their cousin, Greta, was in town and the three of them enjoyed a special outing with G-ma and Uncle Chris before Greta and Chris left town along with their new dog, Charlie.

Hard to believe we reached the six-year mark of living in this general area, attending the same ward, school district, etc.  And who knows where we'll be six years from now...
