Perpetual Parental Projects & PR's

I've been pampered with our frequent Sunday dinner gatherings at Bob and Janene's place.  Occasionally, I bring a side dish or dessert or whatever else is needed, but mostly Janene has prepared the meals for our family gatherings.  It's been a huge tender mercy all those years Aaron was in the bishopric and I was home alone "holding down the fort" with a house full of youngsters.  A serious sanity-saver for sure.

 Now it's my turn to help out by hosting Sunday meals - especially while Bob and Janene are in "temporary housing".  Now, it's no secret that my parents always have a project in motion (or projects, rather).  Just thinking about what they have taken on in recent years makes my head spin.  Bob and Janene, on the other hand, seemed quite settled.  Of course, that all changed last year when they acted on a few "wild ideas" of their own and built a house in Arizona with plans to move there more permanently once Bob finished serving as Stake President.  They thought about downsizing and building a smaller place here as well.  Unexpectedly, the land they planned to purchase was sold out from under them at the same time they surprisingly put their home here under contract.  With G-pa LaVerne in St. George for the winter, Bob and Janene packed up and moved from their lovely home (in January) and temporarily stayed at LaVerne's place until he returned mid-April.  Plans changed from day to day.  They seriously considered moving in with us for a few months but kept working through various options until they found a solution they felt best about.

 It's a tight fit living in this camper but they are troopers to make it work.

We won't mention how well they are (not) sleeping with the crazy wind we've had the past few nights.  Nor will we dwell on the fact that their toilet option is the port-o-potty outside.  Yes, Janene has been known to cook, shower and do laundry at our place but they seem to have adjusted well enough having their belongings scattered between five different locations.

 We stopped by the check out their new digs.  It's really quite small/nice.

 A member in our stake offered to 'rent' this camper to Bob & Janene during the construction process.  Bob likes being right where the action is.  He works on this house every day.

The camper is temporarily parked on their property which is about a mile away from us.

They are clipping right along with the building - anxious to get settled once again.

 In the meantime, Bob and Janene decided to sell their Arizona home which sold in a matter of days.  Guess that means we'll have them around a while longer - hooray!

 Other news of the week - the elementary school PTO sponsored Art Show exhibit.

 Each student prepared six different projects where they demonstrated various artistic elements and techniques.

Who would have thought that one day I would be wearing a fancy name badge designating me as an "Art Mom"?  Audible chuckle.  Fortunately, there was an excellent art teacher from the community to instruct - I was just a helper-bee.

 I finally managed to snap a few shots at one of Tanner's final track meets of the season.

Keeping one eye on Quinn, one hand on the lap split button and one on the camera just didn't work well for me.
