Quinn enjoyed playing in another season of flag football. He was part of an excellent team (Vikings) and especially loved it when he made a catch (or interception) and ran it down the field for a touchdown. It was rare for an opponent to be able to pull his flags because he's so fast. On the flip side, I'm not sure he pulled a single flag:). He let his teammates do that - haha! Quinn has speed and skill but isn't known for being super aggressive.

Homecoming week is always a highlight for the kids with the bonfires, parade, football games, powder puff games, etc. I wasn't a bit disappointed when Jantzen decided not to ask anyone to the dance this time around (many of his friends aren't yet 16) since (we'd be hosting dinner) Aaron was in Washington D.C..

Along with the extra activities of Homecoming Week, Quinn's school class took a few fieldtrips. As a chaperone, I learned all about Big Springs which is the beginning of Henry's Fork or North Fork River which feeds into the Snake River. Over 120 million gallons of water per day flow up from an aquafir so we saw where a river is 'born'.
Regardless of the time of year, the water coming from the spring maintains 52 degrees. It's clear, cold and tasty as the kids sampled it. The students learned some history and science regarding the Island Park area (it's an ancient caldera).

With the myriad of activities the kids had going on, we didn't make plans for our 22nd anniversary. It was awesome when Aaron snagged a last-minute room at the Yellowstone WorldMark so we packed our bags and bikes and headed north for a very quick trip. We left late Thursday afternoon for Montana after the kids got home from school and came home Friday afternoon.
Friday morning we waited for the temperatures to increase before riding bikes out to Hebgen Lake (25 miles) together. With a noon check-out, we didn't have a lot of time but enjoyed getting out in nature and having a brief change of pace.

I have personally never eaten in a taco bus before but this meal was AWESOME! It totally hit the spot and I couldn't have been more pleased with our lunch choice in Yellowstone before heading home. It was a great way to end our little get-away!

Sounds fun. I'm glad you were able to get away and ride bikes and eat tacos. 22 years is worth celebrating! Quinn's field trip looks like an actual real learning experience. Good to see some of that going on.
