The Hills Are Alive

How can you not think of Julie Andrews and the "Sound of Music" in such a setting as the Zermatt Spa & Resort in Midway, UT?

The hills were alive and it was a gorgeous time of year to visit this beautiful area!

We enjoyed an overnight stay in celebration of our 14th anniversary while the kids played with G-ma and G-pa P. Glad the timing worked out because the 'voucher' we bought at a fundraiser auction a year ago (for the resort) expired the next day.

Our minivan was loaded to the max since we were headed to St. George with the kids the next day. Aaron and I had separate suitcases because he had to travel on to Las Vegas for some work. He brought the largest suitcase we own because he had to transport display items for a conference. We didn't want to re-pack so we each hauled our suitcases into the resort. While in the elevator, a gentleman asked how long we'd be staying. Not thinking anything of it, Aaron casually replied, "Just one night". As soon as the man stepped out of the elevator, I busted up laughing while surveying our 'luggage situation'. We were also carrying a laptop bag each since we didn't want to leave our computers in the car overnight. It was quite the load and I'm sure the man thought us a bit odd!

Even though it was late when we checked into the resort, Aaron and I decided we had room for our free dessert (couldn't let a coupon go to waste)! Earlier that evening, we had dinner in Salt Lake with our good friends, Shane and Heidi, who recently returned after serving a mission in Argentina for three years. It was fabulous to spend time with them again! Thanks for the raincheck, Aaron! I love you!
