Ode To Aaron

No - it's not his birthday nor is it Father's Day, but I feel like paying a little tribute to Aaron today.  This little recap is just a typical snapshot of all this man juggles in a 24-hour period - and honestly, I try not to think about it much because it leaves my head swimming.

He's usually the first one up in the morning around our place - and it starts early.  Most mornings he's here to help get the kids up and off for the day - and often takes Tanner and Brinley into town so they can get to school early for their 'stuff'.

Spending a full day at the office - I won't even attempt to recap the vast amount of projects, proposals, presentations, decisions, meetings, emails, etc. that he has his hands in.  He has contributed countless hours of "blood, sweat and tears" into Home Care Pulse - now in it's 4th year.  And we will be forever grateful for his best hire ever - Erik (Chief Operations Officer).  What a talented and capable 'tender mercy' this man has been since joining the team last August.  We've been through an awful lot with our second start-up in this challenging economic climate - but Aaron has never been one to give up when the going gets tough. And it's rewarding to feel the momentum and catch the vision of what this new company is providing for the entire private duty home care industry in the United States and Canada.

Back at the ranch - it definitely takes (more than) two of us to handle all that happens here at home.  I'm not referring so much to all of the physical considerations of raising a family (food, transportation, coordinating of schedules, home-maintenance, etc.) although that in and of itself is mind-boggling but I'm especially thankful for the emotional support he offers to me and the children.  It seems someone is always having a crisis of sorts around here - and it's exhausting!  I'm not gonna lie.  And it doesn't get easier as the children get older...:).  Media and technology have complicated the intricacies of parenthood to the max - there is so much to navigate and anticipate.  There are days when I just want to be pulling a hand-cart.  But enough about that.  He works really hard at being a great Dad and an awesome husband.

Really - he deserves a nice, relaxing weekend!  So where did he spend his Friday evening? At a camp-out with the deacon's quorum (and he doesn't have a boy that age at the moment). And where was he Saturday morning?  Filling in for the head coach at Jantzen's basketball game because he was out of town.  And what did he do that afternoon (after a visit with out-of-town friends, Argyle's)? Take Tanner to town to fulfill his weekly responsibilities at Home Care Pulse.  And what was he doing late Saturday evening after helping with baths and bedtime stuff?  Preparing a last minute talk for Sunday because one of the assigned speakers became ill.  Aaron is conducting sacrament meetings this month and didn't want to burden someone else with a few hours' notice.  And where is he right now?  Well, he just dropped Tanner off after home teaching a few families and headed back to the church to conduct and speak at the Priesthood Preview.  We'll catch up with him for dinner in a bit.  And where will he be tomorrow?  Starting the week all over again.
