Spud Harvest - Part Three

Arriving in St. George, it was my turn to take Brinley and Tanner to the temple.  The workers audibly jumped for joy at our entrance because it was such a slow day.  We were happy to help - and between the three of us we were able to be baptized for nearly 100 people.  Aaron and the others toured the visitors center before heading over to Judd's General Store for their candy selection.  We have our traditions in this town.
Hiking around in Snow Canyon.

Quinn and Elsie were all about the lizards.  Their attention spans were incredible and they would have preferred playing with lizards to most anything else on the hike.

Beautiful in its own way, we enjoy hiking in southern Utah.  Having the comparison with Valley of Fire, the kids acknowledged a new appreciation for that uniquely incredible place in the Nevada desert.
Cottonwood Cove Park - another St. George tradition.
For the big and the little people...
Brinley organized a get-to-know-you type of game for all of us to play.  It included a trip to the dollar store where we 'secretly' selected an item to 'describe' the person we were assigned.
The kids had fun with this one!
An action shot of Jantzen being 'sneaky'.
Back at the condo - more swimming and hot-tubing.

Brinley dunking Dad.
Over the years, we have attended various performances at the beautiful outdoor Tuacahn Theatre.  This was the first year all eight of us watched a show together!  No evidence of Quinn, however, because he fell asleep in the car on the way to the show - I woke him up just before it started so he missed the photo op but not the show.
Disney's "Mary Poppins" - loved those tap-dancin' chimney sweeps!
Quinn "rocked out" to the music - too bad I couldn't video tape him.  Almost as entertaining as the actual show.
One more silly St. George tradition - Jumpin' Jacks.
Some people don't like having their picture taken...guess who?

This indoor bounce-house playground was the perfect location for our family game of ultimate tag.  Fortunately, there were very few folks there so we felt like we had 'free reign' to run around all we wanted.  It was a awesome workout - running up and sliding down - chasing each other!  The kids later reported that I was acting a little bit crazy;).  Maybe so.
Only minor injuries - Anna on the mend.
Quinn loved racing down the duo-slides.
We raced and played until we wore ourselves out - and then enjoyed our final meal "on the road" at Chuck-A-Rama (much better than the Vegas buffet).  We rolled into SL just in time for a quick dinner with G-ma and G-pa P before calling it a day.
Friday morning (early) was spent at the dentist's office.  Isn't that the way to end every family vacation?  NOT.  At least the younger kids enjoyed a quick trip to the zoo with G-ma and G-pa P while the older ones were in the dental chairs.  The kids would have loved a jaunt to CV for General Conference weekend but since Aaron's been on the road for two weeks straight - we needed to get home for some catch-up and to winterize the yard, etc. before snow falls.  The beautiful 80's are now a distant memory.  We had a fabulous Spud Harvest but ready or not it's time to switch gears.

Wow. You're on a blogging roll! Impressive. (The trip AND the posts, of course)
