More Soccer & Cross-Country Highlights

It's been a wonderful learning experience for Anna to participate in the M. United Soccer League for the fall season.  After her positive summer rec stint, she felt ready to take soccer to the next level.  After receiving the practice/game schedule from her coach, I wasn't sure I was ready to have another soccer player in the family:).  It was only manageable because there happened to be three other girls in our ward on her team!  Carpools are the best.

Anna makes friends easily and enjoyed the team comraderie.  

She played her position (forward) well and is becoming quite the athlete.

 Practices twice a week + three games a week = a lot of soccer.

So glad we had awesome weather this autumn.

I am constantly amazed by the commitment of coaches.  Mid-season, Jeremy (in red shirt) joined the staff not because he has a daughter on the team but just because he LOVES soccer!

Nice that G-ma and G-pa P were in town to cheer Anna on during her final game.

It's been a fantastic cross-country season for Tanner.  As this was his first experience with cross-country, I was a bit surprised by the schedule.  They did not have very many races as compared to what it was like for me in high school.  No mid-week dual meets.  Only big invitationals on the weekends.  Five races total.

Quinn loved running around and cheering his big brother on.  This little guy has some serious speed.  He's already excited about running track and cross-country when he gets older:).

It was exciting to watch Tanner progress through the season.

He set a goal for each race and accomplished his goal every time.  

And speaking from experience, I know that's not easy to do.

He ran strong and pushed himself all season to shave substantial time off at each race. 
Yes, he has beat any and all of my PR's now.

Hooray - Tanner finished in the top 10 and received a medal.

The boy's team won the District Championship and have placed first at every meet.  They have enjoyed a powerhouse team with a lot of depth.  The seniors will be missed but it will also open up new opportunities for other team members to step up.
