Tanner's Ordination

I forgot about my picture-taking duties until Sunday arrived.
Elisa W. and Tanner at the top of "R" Mountain
Tanner sent me a few from his phone of a double-date he and Jacob arranged.
It was a chilly spring Friday evening when Tanner & Elisa and Jacob & Kathryn hiked to the top of "R" Mountain.
Afterwards, they warmed up roasting marshmallows and making s'mores at Jacob's house (in our old fire pit).
They really had a great time and spent most of the evening laughing!
Sunday, May 1, 2016 marked a significant day in the lives of these two friends.
Each was ordained to the office of Elder and received the Melchizedek Priesthood.
The ordinations followed a wonderful Stake Conference weekend.  Tanner was ordained by his father, Aaron with Bishop Child, Stake President (G-pa M) and G-pa P standing in the circle.  Due to other responsibilities, G-pa M quickly left after Tanner's ordination.  It was a neat experience for Tanner to then be able to stand in the circle when Jacob was ordained an Elder by his dad (Bishop Child) and Aaron (presiding high councilor).  There was a wonderful feeling in the room.
We were grateful LaVerne arrived from his half-year spent in St. George and that G-ma and G-pa P could arrange their schedules to make the drive to attend.
G-ma and G-pa P joined us for lunch and a Mother's Day foot zone before driving back to SL.

We enjoyed the short visit and appreciate the support of wonderful grandparents/great-grandparents.

Later that evening, we had dinner at Bob and Janene's. Doubtful very many young men can say they had the privilege of having four generations involved in a Melchizedek Priesthood ordination.

That was so awesome! It was worth the drive to be there for that special ordination. We love you Tanner!
