We had a lot of family togetherness over the Thanksgiving weekend and this included Friday afternoon bowling then dinner at nearby Winger's afterwards. The older cousins/dads went to a late night movie. Bonnie and I stayed up way too late talking (every night) after getting Bennett, Quinn and Elsie to bed. We enjoyed having Bryant & Bonnie's family stay at our place for several days. We are usually rushing to squeeze in a conversation here or there with them but not this time.

Saturday morning a few of us took a tour of the recently purchased cabin that will soon become the next project for Chris & Julia's increasingly popular DIY blog. The place is going to be incredible after some work. But the VIEWS of the Palisades Reservoir are amazing right now. Wow - what a find! (Ironically, Aaron looked at the exact cabin online just days before we found out they purchased it - haha!).
Bob and Janene wanted to celebrate Christmas early with those still in town. Though most of their belongings were already packed up, Janene did put up her Christmas tree and a nativity set for the occasion. Since Aaron's siblings still draw names, there were a few gift exchanges before everyone opened up their gifts from Bob and Janene.
After months of effort, each member of the family opened their very own beanie made lovingly by G-ma M. Even the cousins in Florida and Hawaii will be sporting a winter hat:). Nice work Janene!

On Sunday, Bob and Janene had their opportunity to speak in church prior to being set apart as full-time missionaries heading to the Hawaii Honolulu Mission (18 months). Once again, it was a special occasion to be together as family and feel the spirit as President Dalling gave them each an inspired blessing. Afterwards, the family gathered at our house for yet another meal together.

Aaron and I were able to help out a little as Bob and Janene prepared to rent out their home to a younger family moving into the area. Personal belongings were packed up and hauled down to their crawlspace. Most of the furnishings are also being rented so besides a few beds, TV, etc., the big/heavy stuff stayed put. Aaron and I drove over with the kids on Thursday evening (Nov. 30) to say our final good-byes as they were driving to SL airport the next day (to Florida then back to UT to enter MTC Dec. 11). We've enjoyed having them around for over 10 years - and it still hasn't "hit" us yet that we won't be seeing them for Sunday dinners any time soon...

Busy time with the Marcum family. Glad you could spend time together before they left for their mission. That is amazing that Janene was able to make hats for EVERYONE! What an accomplishment!
