I have a slew of awesome senior photos taken of Brinley but haven't been able to figure out how to access them to post on the blog yet - except this one. It's hard to believe that she is technically an adult! What is happening? My kids are growing up...and stopping time isn't an option.
Seems like yesterday Brinley was crawling into cupboards with a streak of curiosity to match her physical abilities. She was our earliest "mover-and-shaker" and very mobile by 5-months! She loved her older brother and they were buddies from the start. It was a dreamy combination of personalities throughout their growing up years (contention almost non-existent).
The idea of having 'an adventure' has only grown for Brinley as she's navigating her teen years and preparing to 'fly the coop' in 2018. She enjoys having something to look forward to and when it starts with a T (travel), even better! Her artistic abilities continue to emerge and amaze us via photography (bought her own camera) and drawing/painting using various mediums - watercolors at the moment. I love to hear her sit down at the piano and play whatever she's picked up through YouTube. Self-taught and self-motivated describes this "quiet giant".
Although she doesn't seek the attention of others, her friends (and she has a lot of them) would describe her as witty, clever, compassionate, sensitive, kind-hearted, loyal, creative, committed and stunningly beautiful inside and out. We are so grateful to have Brinley in our family!

Her birthday schedule included breakfast with friends (another girl shares her b-day), a pedicure with Rachel (since Mom couldn't go), lunch out with Nikki, and an evening of ping-pong and a movie with another bunch of friends. Lucky for us, we did schedule her traditional family birthday dinner at 6pm of Chinese food from the Mandarin:). And Aaron picked out a tasty german-chocolate cake from Broulim's since she didn't have a treat preference. She opened up a few gifts (of course, most had already been tried on for fit - haha!), we sang and laughed and off she flew for more fun!

Happy Birthday Brinley! We love you!
Aaron has been a champ this week between Christmas and New Year's Day. I know he has a long list of projects he was hoping to work on but most of that has taken a back seat. While I've stayed home, he has taken the younger kids out and about. A family punch-pass to Gravity Factory was found in his stocking so the kids were elated to spend time J-U-M-P-I-N-G! Ah, to be so agile!

Included as part of their Christmas gift was a certificate for 3-days of skiing with 2-hour lesson each day (Dec. 27-29). It has been the perfect way for them to spend their holiday break AND to do something new/hard. Some were hesitant in the beginning, but after completing the third day, their confidence has soared. Quinn and Elsie have picked things up pretty quickly and did a few runs beyond the bunny hill today. Anna was in an intermediate group and did a fabulous job doing a few runs with Aaron this afternoon. Good job kids!

We're proud of the kids for their skiing accomplishments this week. Way to go! Thanks for the inside scoop on Brinley and all of her talents. She is truly beautiful inside and out! Love that young lady!
