| Zion National Park |
Wednesday morning we packed our picnic lunch, loaded up and headed out to spend a day exploring in the Zion National Park. It was actually more crowded than I expected but there were very few children. We seem to draw our fair share of attention whenever we travel as a family because six children have a way of doing that in our society these days. It was rather comical to catch a glimpse here and there from people walking by us as we pulled out the cooler and started unloading the sandwich fixings for our crew. People would try not to stare but some were so curious as to just what was going on. We were simply eating lunch:)
The majority of hiking trails can only be accessed by riding the shuttle service. It cuts down on traffic problems in the park. However, we were able to drive our own vehicle through the mile long tunnel blasted right through the rock. The project was completed in 1930. Quite the feat back in the day.

Jantzen and Anna were the 'energizer bunnies' so they did a little extra hiking with Aaron.
Jantzen is Bill's great-grandson for sure. He had the 'eagle-eyes' for wildlife.
This time the deer were close enough to include in the photo.
After spending the day in the park, we returned to St. George in time to catch the first round of Presidential debates. Go Romney! Thursday morning the kids squeezed in a final swim before packing and loading. It was the ultimate jigsaw puzzle.
Since the condo had a full kitchen, we prepared all of our meals during the week... except for one. The much anticipated lunch at Chuck-A-Rama! It was like Christmas morning when we walked in. The kids were all about it and we made sure they were nice and full before the long drive back.
We arrived in Salt Lake with enough time to eat dinner and head to Gardner Village for the "Which Witch Scavenger Hunt". We were happy to have G-ma P join us this year.

We spent the night at G-ma's then headed north Friday to check out my parent's new building project and play with cousins. It's going to be a lovely home with incredible views!

With one final stop to survey a potential rental property for the M family reunion to be held next summer, we pulled into our driveway by 9pm. It was a fabulous week but it sure felt good to sleep in my own bed again. Home Sweet Home.

I love Zions. When I was growing up, my family was a spectacle having 7 kids. We liked to see people's reactions and comments. Sounds like a super fun week!
